Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has assured residents of decisive action following a deadly attack on the National Park Office in Oriire Local Government Area. The incident claimed the lives of five National Park Service Forest Guard Officers.
Titansloaded reports that the officers were killed while performing official duties at the Oloka Village park office. Governor Makinde described the attack as “devastating” and extended condolences to the families of the victims.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the attackers were cross-border criminals, targeting the park office, the governor stated, emphasising the need for heightened security measures in border communities.
Security agencies have been deployed to the area to restore order and prevent further incidents. Makinde called on residents to cooperate with authorities by providing actionable intelligence to support the investigation.
