Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has revalidated his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party commenced its nationwide electronic membership registration and revalidation exercise.
Titansloadedreports that the governor completed the digital process at Ward E3 (Premier Ward) in Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), where he received an updated APC membership slip.
Governor Sanwo-Olu described Lagos Island as central to his political journey, stressing that grassroots engagement remains the foundation of effective and people-centred governance.
He noted that reconnecting with ward members reinforces accountability and strengthens collaboration between leaders and citizens at the community level.
During the visit, the governor interacted with APC members, residents, and neighbours, encouraging them to actively participate in the ongoing e-registration exercise.
Sanwo-Olu specifically urged youths and prospective party members to register, emphasizing that wider participation enhances democratic growth and development across Lagos State.
According to the governor, sustainable progress in Lagos depends on citizens taking responsibility for shaping the future of the state through active political involvement.
He added that inclusive participation helps build a stronger party structure capable of delivering responsive governance and economic growth.
The APC electronic registration and revalidation exercise, which began nationwide on January 5, 2026, is designed to digitize and authenticate the party’s membership database.
The initiative allows existing members to update their details while enabling new members to enroll seamlessly through a digital platform.
Similar exercises have been launched in other states, including Kwara and Yobe, as the ruling party strengthens its internal structures ahead of future electoral activities.
Party leaders have described the exercise as critical to maintaining a credible and transparent membership register for Africa’s largest political party.
Sanwo-Olu’s participation is viewed as a strong signal of leadership commitment to party reforms and digital innovation within Nigeria’s political space.
Observers say the governor’s action may further boost participation in Lagos, given the state’s strategic importance to the APC.
Public response to the exercise has been positive, with many members welcoming the shift toward a more efficient and inclusive registration system.
The APC leadership has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the process remains accessible, transparent, and credible nationwide.
