Head coach Luis de la Fuente was the first to disembark from the plane, followed by midfielder Rodri, who was named the tournament’s best player. Rodri lifted the FIFA World Cup trophy high above his head as he descended the aircraft stairs, drawing loud cheers from fans and officials.
Following their arrival, the squad was scheduled to meet King Felipe VI at the Zarzuela Palace on the outskirts of Madrid before proceeding to the Moncloa Palace, where Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez was set to host an official reception in honour of the team.
