The Maureen Idehen Ovabor Foundation has rewarded winning students from Josab School and God’s Merit School with welcome-back packs following the successful conclusion of the second edition of the Bosede Idehen 5-A-Side Football Competition in Lagos.
The presentation, held at Bosede Idehen International Academy, recognised the students’ achievements in the tournament and underscored the foundation’s commitment to encouraging young people through sports, education and humanitarian initiatives.
The welcome-back packs were presented specifically to the competition winners by the Foundation Coordinator, Mr Aluko Theophilus, alongside the football coach of Bosede Idehen International Academy.
The gesture was designed to celebrate the students’ accomplishments and encourage them as they continue their academic activities.
The Bosede Idehen 5-A-Side Football Competition brought together young footballers from participating schools, providing a platform for them to showcase their talents while promoting teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship and healthy competition.
Beyond the excitement of the matches, the competition highlighted the importance of sports in nurturing confidence, building character and encouraging positive relationships among students from different educational institutions.
Speaking with the media, Mrs Maureen Idehen Ovabor reaffirmed her commitment to humanitarian service, expressing her determination to continue supporting initiatives that improve people’s lives.
She expressed the hope that God would grant her the strength and wisdom to sustain her efforts and extend the foundation’s impact through further community-based interventions.
According to her, the foundation’s activities are motivated by a desire to make a meaningful difference, particularly in the lives of children and young learners who need encouragement and opportunities to thrive.
The presentation of the welcome-back packs reflects the foundation’s approach to youth development, combining the recognition of sporting achievements with practical support for learners.
The initiative also demonstrates how school sporting competitions can provide opportunities for community engagement beyond the playing field, bringing together educational institutions, coaches, students and charitable organisations around a shared commitment to young people’s development.
The Maureen Idehen Ovabor Foundation continues to pursue humanitarian and community-focused initiatives aimed at supporting learners, promoting child wellbeing and contributing to social development across Lagos State.
The latest intervention further reinforces the importance of encouraging young talents and recognising their achievements as part of broader efforts to build a supportive environment for children and young people.
