Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi has cautioned bloggers, influencers and other social media users against spreading statements she considers false and damaging to her reputation.
Titiansloaded reports that the warning was contained in a legal notice issued by her solicitors, who accused some individuals of publishing and circulating unverified claims and misleading narratives about the actress.
In a letter signed by Tope Salami, Esq., the law firm said the publications could harm Abraham’s professional image, personal integrity and public standing.
The solicitors also raised concerns about what they described as coordinated attacks involving known individuals allegedly using other people to spread sponsored content against the actress.
The notice directed bloggers, content creators, influencers and members of the public to stop sharing or reposting defamatory or unverified information about Abraham across social media and other communication platforms.
It further demanded the removal of existing posts, videos, comments and other materials containing statements considered false or damaging.
The legal representatives also warned against creating or promoting fabricated allegations, misleading stories and malicious content intended to ridicule, harass or undermine the actress or her business.
They urged social media users to avoid encouraging cyberbullying, intimidation and other forms of online harassment against their client.
The firm maintained that any future discussion involving Abraham should be based on verifiable facts and presented fairly and responsibly.
It warned that individuals who continue to publish or circulate defamatory material after receiving the notice could be held legally accountable.
According to the solicitors, those involved may face legal proceedings and other remedies available under existing laws.
The warning marks Abraham’s latest response to alleged online publications concerning her, as her legal team seeks to prevent further circulation of content it considers harmful to her reputation.
