The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has said that the power interruption in its areas of operation is as a result of a system collapse from the National Grid. The AEDC made this announcement via its X account on Saturday, where it claimed that the grid system failed at approximately 8:16 a.m. and caused disruption in power supply.
AEDC however reassured members of the public that they are currently working with other relevant parties to ensure that power is restored as soon as the grid recovers. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has further stated that the national grid collapsed also on Monday and this is the seventh incident of a grid collapse that has occurred in the year 2024.
