Hollywood legend Denzel Washington has said that Rihanna’s partner, A$AP Rocky, is a good man. The moviestar recently revealed that he has seen what the “Umbrella” singer saw in the Rocky before deciding to build a home with him.
Speaking during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Denzel shared that working with A$AP in Spike Lee’s latest movie exposed everyone on set to how intelligent the artist is.
Describing him as bright and nice, Washington stated that meeting Rocky made it obvious that Rihanna settled down with a smart man.
“You know what, I get it, Rihanna. He’s a very intelligent young man, he’s very nice, he’s handsome, he’s a good guy. I get it. He’s a good dude. He’s smart — a very bright man,” he said.
Asked about his favourite rappers of all time, he mentioned Nas, stressing that his personal love for talking drew him close to the lyricist’s rap songs.
“Nas is one of my favorites ever. Because I talk a lot, he’s a wordsmith. I’m up on this young girl, Samara Cyn, and Smino ‘Brand New Teeth.'” Denzel continued.

On Spike Lee’s “Highest 2 Lowest,” the actor noted that the project was actually in his hands first before Spike picked it up.
Denzel concluded by saying that the film is a reinterpretation of his 1963 Japanese film “High and Low,” therefore, Spike Lee was the perfect man for the job.
“This project came to me first and I thought, ‘Hey, this is a New York story.’ And I brought it to Spike. I read a script… I liked it and there wasn’t a director attached, I said, ‘Spike.'” he added.
