Nigerian gospel singer and worship leader Pastor Nathaniel Bassey has reportedly surpassed one billion views on his official YouTube channel, marking a significant milestone for his digital ministry.
Titiansloaded reports data from YouTube analytics platforms Social Blade and ReachRanking showed that the channel, Nathaniel Bassey Main, had recorded approximately 1.014 billion views and 5.24 million subscribers as of Sunday, November 1, 2026.
The milestone comes more than 15 years after the channel was created on March 4, 2011, and reflects the growing global audience for Bassey’s gospel music and online worship sessions.

The latest increase in viewership has been associated with the October 2026 edition of the Hallelujah Challenge, the singer’s online prayer and praise programme, which attracts participants from different countries.
According to ReachRanking data, the edition’s closing event, the Hallelujah Festival, garnered more than 4.3 million views. The opening session also recorded over four million views, while several other broadcasts from the programme attracted millions of views.
Bassey launched the Hallelujah Challenge in June 2017 as a midnight prayer and praise session on Instagram Live. The initiative has since grown into an international online Christian gathering featuring worship, prayers, testimonies and gospel music.
The programme has also drawn attention for Bassey’s decision not to monetise its YouTube broadcasts.
In November 2025, the singer reportedly explained that he would not monetise the channel for the Hallelujah Challenge because he had not received what he considered divine instruction to do so.
“People are dragging me because I didn’t monetise my YouTube channel for the Hallelujah Challenge. I won’t monetise it; God didn’t tell me to,” he said during one of the sessions, according to The Guardian.

Bassey described the programme as an avenue for worship rather than a commercial venture, adding that he believed he would receive provision through other means.
Outside the Hallelujah Challenge, the gospel minister has built a music catalogue that includes Imela, Onise Iyanu, Olowogbogboro, Yahweh Sabaoth and Jesus Iye. His songs have attracted listeners across different countries.
Bassey is a gospel singer, songwriter, trumpeter and music producer. He also serves as a pastor at The Oasis, the youth church of the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s The King’s Court in Lagos.
