Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has faulted the 2027 governorship manifesto of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, describing its proposals as recycled promises already being pursued by his administration.
Titiansloaded reports that Makinde’s criticism followed the unveiling of Alli’s manifesto on Tuesday ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the governor argued that the APC candidate failed to introduce fresh ideas capable of addressing the state’s challenges.

According to Makinde, several programmes and projects outlined in Alli’s document were already part of the policies and initiatives being implemented by his government.
The governor said he expected Alli to offer a clear vision for improving governance in Oyo State, rather than presenting proposals that largely mirror existing projects.
Makinde also questioned the originality of the manifesto, arguing that it focused heavily on promises without providing practical ideas or a new approach to governance.

He maintained that a candidate seeking to lead the state should demonstrate a strong understanding of its current realities and explain how his proposed policies would deliver better results.
Makinde said, “In the end, the document is rich in rhetoric but poor in innovation, heavy on promises but light on original thinking. And for a candidate seeking to lead one of Nigeria’s most important states, that is a serious cause for concern.”
