The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed concerns about the health of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, saying his demanding campaign schedule has left him physically tired but not medically unwell.
Titiansloaded reports that the party’s Deputy Campaign Spokesperson, Sam Omale, made the clarification during an interview with Channels Television, explaining that Obi’s frequent travels and packed engagements have limited his time for rest.
Omale said the former Anambra State governor remains passionate about his political activities and often handles several responsibilities within a short period.

He noted that Obi’s movements between different locations, sometimes travelling from London to Enugu within hours, had contributed to his exhaustion.
According to Omale, members of the candidate’s team have been encouraging him to slow down and get adequate sleep.
“Sometimes I wonder where he gets his energy from. He is in London today and the following morning in Enugu. I’m wondering how he does it. Exhaustion comes in; he is a human being,” he said.
Omale stressed that Obi was in good health and that his tiredness would not disrupt the party’s ongoing campaign activities.
“He is in perfect health. There’s nothing wrong with him. It’s just exhaustion, and we are trying to calm him down to take a sleep. He is fine,” he added.

Meanwhile, Arise News Political Editor, Sumner Sambo, has predicted that Obi would pursue a second presidential term if he wins the 2027 election.
Sambo rejected claims by some political figures that Obi would serve only one term before handing over power, arguing that the Constitution allows a president to seek re-election.
“Nothing will stop Peter Obi from seeking a second term if he wins. He will betray a one-term pact,” Sambo said.
He maintained that any informal agreement limiting Obi to a single term would not override his constitutional right to contest for another term
