The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied endorsing the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) under former Senate President David Mark, dismissing a social media poster making the claim as fraudulent.
In a statement released on Friday, Titiansloaded reports that the electoral body said it had no connection with the publication, which carried its official logo alongside the photograph of National CommissionerMohammed Haruna.
INEC stressed that it had not released any communication confirming or reaffirming the Mark-led faction as the recognised leadership of the opposition party.

“For the avoidance of doubt, INEC has issued no such reaffirmation,” the commission stated.
The electoral umpire also criticised the unauthorised use of its identity and the image of its commissioner, warning the public not to treat the circulating poster as an official announcement.
The clarification comes against the backdrop of an ongoing leadership dispute within the ADC.

The crisis intensified after a Federal High Court in Abuja nullified the emergence of the David Mark-led executive and invalidated actions taken by the party leadership, including the process that produced former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
INEC advised Nigerians to disregard the disputed publication and rely exclusively on its verified communication platforms for accurate information about the commission’s decisions and activities.
