Popular Nigerian activist, Martins Otse, a.k.a VeryDarkMan, has expressed his utmost gratitude to everyone who spoke up for his release from EFCC’s custody. Recall that the social critic was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for days, which prompted his supporters to protest in the streets of Abuja, demanding his freedom.
Appreciating his well-wishers via his social media page, VDM revealed that he never expected the level of support and love he received from everyone who demanded his release online and offline.
According to him, he almost cried when he came out and saw proof of the support his people showed him during a difficult period. VDM shared that he has recorded over 15 videos to thank everyone who came out because he cannot afford to leave any name out.
“I never expected the love, I almost wanted to cry when I came out and saw everything,” he said.
Appreciating Nigerians for sticking by him against all odds, VeryDarkMan thanked Femi Falana for also speaking up despite their pending issues, revealing that he never expected the Human Rights lawyer to say anything.
VDM then urged his followers to tag him to any name he mistakenly left out because every single person who came through for him deserves to be named and appreciated.
Besides thanking people he has never met, the activist also expressed his gratitude to his legal team, headed by Deji Adeyanju, as well as to Cubana Chiefpriest, Davido, Jojooflele, Dkokopee, and several others.
“I didn’t expect Falana to say anything. I really want to appreciate everyone that lent their voice to say #FreeVDM. I have recorded over 15 videos today because I don’t want to miss anyone’s name, and I hope I didn’t. If I did, please tag them and pass on my thanks on my behalf (TO THE RATEL MOVEMENT WORLDWIDE),” he added.
