Nollywood actress Age Anthony has shared a shocking experience she had with a marketer that almost forced her to stop producing movies. She recently stated that the marketer actually deceived her into putting his name on her movie jacket.
Speaking during an interview with the press, Anthony revealed that the marketer tricked her into inscribing his name on the jacket of her first movie, only for him to take credit for her movie after.
According to her, after she submitted the movie to a TV station, she was shocked to find out that the manager went behind her back to receive payment for the content days later.
Anthony said that the entire experience made her consider abandoning filmmaking because she couldn’t be sowing for someone else to reap.
Confessing that she felt exploited and undervalued, the movie star revealed that she lost more than N1 million to the inconsiderate marketer.

“My worst moment in the industry was when somebody was taking the credit for my film and smiling to the bank. When I produced my first movie, my marketer tricked me into inscribing his name on the movie jacket .
After producing the movie, I took it to a TV station, but to my surprise, the marketer went to the TV station to receive the payment for my movie. At that point, I felt why would I be producing movies for someone else to receive the money and pay me peanuts,” she said.
Anthony further noted that she couldn’t even speak out against the injustice at the time because she was a very shy person.
“I couldn’t make noise then because I was a shy person. Sadly, I was seeing my movie being shown on TV and another person was being paid for it,” she added.
