Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to close ranks following the Supreme Court judgment that brought an end to the party’s prolonged leadership crisis.
Titansloaded reports that Saraki described the ruling by the Supreme Court of Nigeria as a decisive turning point, urging party stakeholders to seize the moment to rebuild and reposition the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement released through his media office, Saraki noted that the apex court’s decision has now established clarity within the party, stressing that there is only one recognised leadership structure moving forward.
He maintained that the judgment aligned with his earlier position that an interim arrangement would have prevented the internal conflicts and legal battles that plagued the party in recent times.
Saraki further appealed to aggrieved members to sheath their swords and return to the fold, emphasizing that unity is critical if the PDP hopes to remain competitive in future elections.
He advised party leaders and stakeholders to shift focus from blame and internal disputes to reconciliation and strategic rebuilding, describing the court’s verdict as an opportunity to strengthen the party’s foundation.
The former Senate President also called on members currently involved in legal tussles to withdraw their cases and contribute to stabilising the party, insisting that the PDP remains a strong platform capable of winning elections.
With the leadership crisis now settled, Saraki’s message signals a renewed push for cohesion within the party as it prepares for the political battles ahead.
