Nigerian rapper Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide Badoo, has urged Africans to embrace their cultural identity, warning against the portrayal of indigenous traditions as evil or diabolical.
Titiansloaded reports that the music star made the remarks in a video shared by actress Sotayo Gaga, where he spoke in support of African heritage and the need to preserve traditional practices.
Olamide stressed that African customs should not be condemned or viewed negatively, adding that people should take pride in their roots and cultural identity.

The rapper also disclosed his personal connection to Yoruba culture, noting that he remains comfortable with traditional practices, including the use of locally made black soap.
Speaking in the video, Olamide said efforts should be made to educate people about the value of African traditions rather than demonising them.

“We should promote our culture and sensitise people that our culture and tradition are not diabolical and should not be demonised. We are proud of who we are, our culture and our heritage,” he said.
Emphasising his Yoruba identity, the rapper added: “I’m a Yoruba boy. If you give me black soap, I will collect it.”
