The Ogun State Executive Council has approved the construction of new roads and housing units across the state to further strengthen the state’s infrastructure and support its growing industrial landscape.
Titansloaded reports that the approvals were issued during the first council meeting held at the newly commissioned Exco Chamber in the Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, presided over by Governor Dapo Abiodun. The council also ratified declarations for traditional councils responsible for appointing new traditional rulers.
The roads slated for reconstruction include Miliki Junction–Bode Olude–Alhaji Sugar Avenue in Abeokuta North LGA (1.05km, 10m width), Paddy Arikawe Road in GRA Sagamu (3.39km, 9m width), and Itanrin–Sabo Road in Ijebu-Ode/Odogbolu LGAs (5km, 10m width).

In the housing sector, the state approved the development of 26 duplexes at the Ogun State Housing Corporation Office in Ibara, comprising 12 five-bedroom detached units with boys’ quarters and 14 four-bedroom semi-detached units. Also approved were nine duplexes—five detached and four semi-detached—at the HID Estate (Iseya Court), Obasanjo Hilltop, Abeokuta.
Meanwhile, the council confirmed several traditional appointments, including Chief Lai Labode as the new Are Egba and Dr Oluwadairo Adeleke as Ogboye Egba, both from Abeokuta South. Additional declarations were approved for traditional stools across Yewa South, Ipokia, Yewa North, and Ado-Odo/Ota LGAs, including the Ongbeyi, Olofin of Ijofin, Elebote of Iboro, Awujoko of Ijoko Orile, Akoko of Tongeji Island, Oniwuye, Opo of Idosemo, Alaye of Oniro-Agute, Olodan of Odan, and Abujafole.
These developments signal continued momentum in Ogun’s infrastructure drive and traditional institution reforms.
