TV presenter Morayo Brown has advised parents to consider their teenagers’ emotional readiness before sending them overseas for secondary education, following reports that a 15-year-old Ghanaian boy was killed in the United States in an alleged bullying incident.
Titiansloaded reports that Brown shared the advice while reacting to the reported death, drawing from her own experience of being bullied at a US high school when she was 15.
She recalled that some students targeted her because she was African, placing dirty items in her locker and pushing her during morning sports activities.

According to Brown, she kept the incidents to herself because she was new to the school and wanted to fit in. She said some classmates repeatedly made her feel unwelcome, while the bullying intensified as she prepared for prom.
The TV host urged parents to ensure their children are emotionally prepared and have adequate guidance before sending them abroad for high school.

“University abroad is fine, but high school can be treacherous,” she said.
Brown also encouraged parents to maintain regular communication with their children, ask about their experiences and offer support as they adapt to life in another country.
