Funke Akindele has offered a glimpse into the personal challenges that come with being a public figure, saying the confidence audiences see on screen does not always match how she feels behind closed doors.
Titansloaded reports that, during a CNN interview, the Nollywood actress and filmmaker discussed the challenges of fame, public judgment and the importance of prioritising her emotional well-being.
Akindele disclosed that she sometimes reaches a point where she needs to withdraw from others and release her emotions before getting back on her feet.

“I cry. I lock myself in the room, cry, break down, and hit the bed. But I just pick myself up and come back to life,” she said.
She also reflected on how public commentary can affect her confidence, particularly when people weigh in on her personal relationships and decisions.
The actress said she has sometimes found herself wondering whether she made the wrong choice and how the public might respond.

“Sometimes I tell myself, you’ve made a mistake again. How are people going to judge you?” she said.
Despite those moments of doubt, Akindele said she has learnt to regain her footing and continue with her life without letting criticism define her.
She also underscored the importance of caring for oneself and keeping loved ones close while managing the demands of a career in the public eye
