The Maureen Idehen Ovabor Foundation has awarded a one-term scholarship to Folorunsho Rejoice, a First Grade pupil of Springfield Private School, Lagos, in recognition of her impressive classroom performance and active participation in extracurricular activities.
The scholarship underscores the Foundation’s commitment to promoting education, recognising young talents, and supporting children in their pursuit of academic excellence.
Speaking on the award, the Foundation’s Founder, Mrs Maureen Idehen Ovabor, said she was particularly impressed by Rejoice’s performance both in the classroom and during extracurricular activities organised by the school.
According to her, the pupil consistently distinguishes herself whenever she participates in school programmes, making her someone she eagerly anticipates seeing at various activities.
Mrs Idehen Ovabor explained that the scholarship was intended to motivate Rejoice to build on her achievements, remain dedicated to her studies, and strive for greater academic success.
She added that recognising and encouraging pupils who demonstrate commitment, confidence, and enthusiasm is an important way to inspire them to reach their full potential.
The scholarship letter was formally presented to Rejoice’s mother by Mr Aluko Theophilus, Coordinator of the Maureen Idehen Ovabor Foundation, during a presentation held at Springfield Private School.
Reacting to the gesture, Rejoice’s mother expressed profound gratitude to the Foundation and its Founder for the support, describing the award as a significant relief to her family.
“This is like a heavy load removed from my neck,” she said, conveying her appreciation to Mrs Idehen Ovabor for the scholarship and the consideration shown to her daughter.
She further expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s intervention, noting the importance of such support in helping families meet their children’s educational needs.
The presentation was marked by joyful moments as Rejoice and her mother participated in a photo session to commemorate the occasion. Their expressions of happiness reflected the significance of the scholarship and the encouragement it represents for the young pupil.
The award forms part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to educational support, humanitarian service, and the empowerment of the less privileged.
Through initiatives that recognise potential and encourage learning, the Maureen Idehen Ovabor Foundation seeks to create opportunities for children to develop their abilities and pursue a brighter future.
The scholarship awarded to Rejoice serves as both a reward for her current achievements and an encouragement to maintain her enthusiasm for learning, while demonstrating how targeted educational support can positively affect pupils and their families.
