The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, has said that he regrets some of his recent criticisms of the US president, Donald Trump. This is coming after the pair’s public falling-out last week, and the world has been reacting.
Speaking via his X account, Musk revealed that he is not proud of what he tweeted about Trump during their recent fallout, and he admits that he went too far with some of his tweets.
“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” he wrote.
Elon’s expression of regret comes days after Trump threatened the tech billionaire with serious consequences if he sought to punish Republicans who vote for a controversial spending bill.
Their sudden public split was ignited by Musk’s harsh criticism of Trump’s so-called “big, beautiful” spending bill, which is currently before Congress.

Some lawmakers who were against the bill had called on Musk, one of the Republican Party’s biggest financial backers in last year’s presidential election, to sponsor primary challenges against Republicans who voted for the legislation.
“He’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that,” Trump said to NBC News on Saturday, branding Musk disrespectful without specifying what those consequences would be.
