Chiamaka Yusuf, daughter of late Nollywood actor Diewait Ikpechukwu, has asked the public to give her family space to mourn, expressing displeasure over the circulation of information about her father’s death without her approval.
In an emotional Instagram video shared on Friday, Titiansloaded reports that Chiamaka, popularly called Chiamax, appealed to members of the public to stop making announcements about the actor’s passing without first obtaining her consent.
She also called on the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to withdraw an alleged burial poster bearing her father’s details, insisting that she wanted to be the person to formally announce his death.
Visibly distressed, Chiamaka urged people to stop contacting her by phone and allow her time to process the loss.

“Actors Guild, I don’t want you guys to post my daddy. Nobody should post my daddy’s poster. You people should leave me alone. Nobody should call me. I’m still wearing my daddy’s shirt; he wore it yesterday,” she said.
She repeated her request for the guild to remove the poster, emphasising that the responsibility of announcing her father’s death should be left to her.

“You people should please take it down. If anybody should announce his passing, it would be me. Nobody would do that for me, please,” she added.
Ikpechukwu reportedly died on Thursday at the age of 71 after battling a prolonged illness. His death has prompted tributes from members of the Nigerian film industry.
