The Nigerian Army has confirmed an ambush on troops of the 25 Task Force Brigade in Borno State, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers and two Civilian JTF members.
Titansloaded reports that the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Appolonia Anele, stated the troops were attacked while returning from a successful operation in the Sambisa Forest. She emphasised that although the insurgents opened heavy fire on the patrol, the team—led by Brigadier General M. Uba—fought through the ambush with superior firepower, forcing the attackers to flee.

The Army dismissed circulating claims that the Brigade Commander was abducted, describing the reports as fake news. It urged the public to disregard such misinformation while commiserating with the families of the fallen personnel.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, praised the troops for their courage and resilience, highlighting their continued sacrifices in one of Nigeria’s most dangerous conflict zones.
Sources revealed that the remains of the two CJTF operatives were transported to Maiduguri for burial.
