Nollywood actress and ex-BBNaija housemate, Beverly Osu, has come out to blast the organisers of the AMVCA awards. She recently revealed that the major focus on the Nigerian fashion scene at the award ceremony is something she is not happy about.
Speaking via her social media page, Beverly Osu slammed the organisers for spiralling in the opposite direction while international award platforms refocus on keeping the spotlight on actors and movie producers.
According to her, Cannes recently set boundaries by banning nudity and massive trains on their red carpet, and that is the kind of good example AMVCA organisers should follow.
Beverly then urged those involved to retrace their steps as soon as possible because what used to be a celebration of African cinematic excellence has looked like a masquerade parade in recent years.
“While Cannes is setting boundaries by banning nudity and massive trains on the red carpet to refocus attention on actors and filmmakers, AMVCA is spiraling in the opposite direction. What was once a celebration of African cinematic excellence now looks like a masquerade parade,” she wrote.
