Donald Trump’s Nobel Peace Prize nomination has been suddenly withdrawn by the person who nominated him. Oleksandr Merezhko, who was behind the nomination, withdrew it because Trump did not help stop the war between Ukraine and Russia.
The top Ukrainian lawmaker had nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize last November; however, the nomination was taken back on Monday, June 23.
According to Merezhko, he no longer has faith in Donald Trump’s ability to end the war between Ukraine and Russia, despite initially feeling the U.S. president could make it happen.
Trump vowed to end the war in just 24 hours around January after he returned to the White House. However, his effort has yet to yield any result.
Despite Ukraine agreeing to a U.S. plan to make peace in March, Russia is yet to agree.
Oleksandr Merezhko, the head of Ukraine’s parliamentary foreign committee, said that he no longer believes Trump can secure a ceasefire between Moscow and Kyiv.

“Trump is evading—he is dodging—the need to impose sanctions on Russia.
He had virtually no reaction to recent large-scale strikes on the Ukrainian capital. He has chosen the path of appeasement,” he added.
Donald Trump recently disclosed that it would take a fortnight to confirm if Russia was taking him for a fool.
He declared that if Vladimir Putin is intentionally prolonging the peace talks, “I’ll respond a little bit differently.”
However, the deadline the American president gave elapsed approximately 2 weeks ago, and no action has been taken.
