Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu, has opened up on how she balances being a manager and a mother to the popular singer. She recently spoke about her responsibilities and how she juggles motherhood with artist management.
Speaking during an interview, Bose shared that while it has not been so easy, she keeps things balanced by simply separating her roles from time to time.
According to her, objectivity can be very hard when family is involved in business, and it gets very hard to draw the line between work and emotions.
“Yes, sometimes it’s tough drawing the line between work and emotions. But I tell him: ‘Now your mom’s talking,’ or ‘I’m your manager, so yell at me.’ It helps us feel supported, even in disagreements. Objectivity is hard, but we practice. Family extends beyond my kids, now I have 40 “kids” on stage or touring with us,” she said.

Ogulu further noted that Burna Boy’s early music days were filled with sacrifices, stressing that she once funded his music with her own money.
Bose concluded by saying that management has since become a part of her life, and she would be at home relaxing if she wanted to just be a mum.
“Before, they couldn’t pay me; I funded their music, read contracts, handled admin. France is special because I speak French and took my kids on trips there (like Biarritz). It became part of their lives. We saw rock music everywhere. Switching from manager to mom hat? Easy if I was just a mom, I’d stay home. But this is my job,” she added.
