American entertainer Nick Cannon has disclosed that he was diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), explaining that he sees the condition differently from the negative perception often associated with narcissism.
Titiansloaded reports that the actor and television presenter said the diagnosis followed an extensive assessment process that lasted about three months and involved several hours of testing.
Speaking about his experience, Cannon argued that narcissism is not necessarily a negative quality, noting that strong self-belief can contribute to exceptional achievements.

He cited Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, singer Beyoncé, basketball legend Michael Jordan and late pop icon Michael Jackson as examples of successful individuals he believes displayed narcissistic traits.
Cannon suggested that their confidence and strong belief in their abilities helped distinguish them in their respective fields.
“I’ve been diagnosed with NPD. That’s narcissistic personality disorder. And they make you take hours and hours of tests. It’s over a period of time of like three months before they can determine if you have narcissistic personality disorder,” he said.
He added that he does not consider narcissism inherently bad, arguing that some highly admired personalities possess the trait.

Cannon maintained that self-confidence and self-belief can be valuable qualities, describing himself as a fellow narcissist and insisting that there is nothing wrong with being one.
“And all of these people are amazing because they believe and love themselves. So as a fellow narcissist, there’s nothing wrong with being a narcissist,” he added.
