Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has voiced concern over Nigeria’s political leadership, social injustice and the difficulties faced by citizens.
Titansloaded reports that the singer, speaking on the I Wanna Talk podcast, said he initially believed the 2020 EndSARS protests would bring meaningful change, but his optimism faded as public attention returned to everyday activities
Davido recalled feeling encouraged by the demonstrations but said the return to normal life, including the December festivities, left him disappointed. He noted that people have families and responsibilities, making it difficult to sustain protests indefinitely.

The singer also acknowledged that he could not fully advise Nigerians struggling with the economy because he does not experience the same hardships, despite having personal challenges of his own.
He called for change across the country, saying both political leaders and ordinary citizens must take responsibility for Nigeria’s condition.
Davido further argued that lasting reform would require a shift in people’s attitudes and values. He observed that some individuals who once protested against the government later supported politicians, while those who claim to represent the people often change their positions after gaining power.

The singer also said that, despite coming from a privileged and influential family, he still worries about his safety and fears losing his life.
He urged Nigerians to rethink their approach to leadership and society, stressing that meaningful progress would depend on a change in mindset among citizens and those in power.
