The Nigeria Police Force has reportedly arrested controversial social media personality and disc jockey, DJ Chicken, over alleged threats directed at Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Titansloaded reports that the arrest followed the circulation of a viral video in which DJ Chicken allegedly made remarks about the 2027 presidential election and issued a threat against Seyi Tinubu.
According to reports, the controversial entertainer claimed in the video that President Tinubu would not secure re-election in 2027. He allegedly went further to state that if the President eventually won another term in office, he would kill Seyi Tinubu.
The video quickly gained traction across social media platforms, sparking widespread reactions and calls for law enforcement authorities to investigate the matter.
Rumours of DJ Chicken’s arrest began circulating online barely two days after the video surfaced.
The development was later confirmed during a Thursday night livestream by content creator, Tunde Perry, who disclosed that the social media personality had been taken into police custody.
According to Perry, although neither President Tinubu nor his son personally initiated the arrest, individuals close to the Presidency allegedly reported the matter to the appropriate authorities.
Speaking during the livestream, Perry said:
“DJ Chicken did a video that Tinubu can’t win the next election. Knowing fully well that Tinubu is the only Yoruba man contesting for the next presidential election in 2027. And said even if Tinubu wins, he will kill Seyi Tinubu. The president and his son are not responsible for his arrest but those close to the presidency did.”
As of the time of filing this report, the Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official statement detailing the circumstances surrounding the arrest or any charges that may have been filed against DJ Chicken.
Similarly, DJ Chicken has not publicly commented on the reported arrest or the allegations contained in the viral video.
Under Nigerian law, threats to life are criminal allegations that may be investigated by law enforcement authorities. Any determination of criminal liability rests with the courts following due legal process.
