Former member of the House of Representatives and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Shina Peller, has urged Nigerians to take full advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
Recall that INEC recently announced the commencement of the CVR nationwide, with the electoral body saying that the exercise would allow first-time voters, Nigerians who turned 18, and those seeking to transfer or replace their Permanent Voter Cards to complete the process ahead of the elections.
Reacting to the announcement, Peller appealed to the people, especially residents of Oyo North Senatorial District and Oyo State, not to delay their registration.
According to him, procrastination could deny people the opportunity to participate fully in the electoral process, so they must make hay while the sun shines.
He stated that citizens must know that only their votes can deliver the right leaders who will truly represent their interests and aspirations.

“Today, I bring you an important message regarding our democratic rights and responsibilities. I cannot stress enough how crucial it is for each and every one of you to participate in this process. Your vote matters, and it is a vital tool in ensuring that we have leaders who truly represent our interests and aspirations,” he said.
He further reiterated that the CVR exercise is not restricted to first-time voters, but is also open to Nigerians who want to register, collect, transfer, or replace their PVCs.
Peller concluded by saying that PVC remains the most powerful instrument in the hands of the electorate to make their voices heard in a democracy.
“It is a tool required to enable us to select leaders who will shape the future of our nation across all levels of government,” he added.
