Popular singer Terry G has blasted Nigerians for always telling older artists that their time has passed. He recently wondered why Nigerian fans flaunt such a myopic mindset.
Speaking via his social media page, Terry G revealed that while people in Western nations respect and adore their legends, Nigerians constantly choose to rubbish their legendary musicians.
According to him, it is impossible to hear American music fans refer to Jay Z or Beyoncé as expired; instead, they never fail to recognize and honour their impact.
“I hear people say, ‘Your time don pass!’—and it sounds like brain damage.
In the West, legends are respected for life. No one calls Jayz or Beyoncé outdated. Their impact is honored,” he said.

Terry G further noted that this wrong mindset is why Nigerians believe our ancestors are evil, unlike Westerners, who see their ancestors as gods.
He concluded by saying that Nigerian citizens must break free from the poor mindset and do better.
“But here in Africa, especially Nigeria, we’re quick to discard our own. That’s why we believe our ancestors were evil, while Western ancestors are seen as gods. It’s time to break free from that mindset.
If you don’t keep adding value to yourself and those around you, your worth will fade—no matter how great you once were.
We must do better,” he added.
