Popular Nollywood filmmaker, Ugezu J. Ugezu, has warned Nigerians who are always in a hurry to go overseas in search of greener pastures. He recently shared a personal life story that preaches against desperately seeking a better life abroad as a Nigerian citizen.
Speaking via his social media page, Ugezu narrated a story of a Nigerian doctor who gave up his practice in the country in search of a better life in the United States.
According to him, the doctor eventually sold his clinic with the hopes of a better standard of living abroad, only to get there and find out that life could get harder.
The actor shared that upon arriving in the U.S., the hardship eventually forced the medical doctor to start selling meat in a foreign land just to make ends meet.

Ugezu disclosed that the man now hides from his fellow Nigerians abroad out of fear of being shamed for relocating without a plan.
Emphasising the moral lesson of his real-life story, the movie producer cautioned his fellow citizens against making hasty decisions to relocate without fully understanding that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
“In the name of JAPA, a practicing medical doctor in Nigeria sold his clinic and relocated to the US. Finally, he is now in a US city. Guess what? He now works as a butcher in a meat shop, hiding from Nigerians to avoid being noticed…FOR HOW LONG?
A lot of things are not really the way they appear. BE GUIDED. [Ugezu J. Ugezu Writes],” he wrote.
