Popular Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Big N, has come out to warn aspiring DJs across the country. He recently warned newcomers who are entering the DJ scene without being passionate about the job to reconsider their decision.

Reacting via his social media page, DJ Big N said that a lot of depth and passion are needed to excel in the business, so any upcoming DJ trying to delve into the business without both qualities is wasting his or her time.

Warning that the music-playing business is not an escape route, he warned the newcomers to avoid the industry if they do not have a deep love for music.

He further stressed that the DJ business should never be seen as a plan B by anyone looking to make a meaningful impact.

“Everybody now wants to be a DJ. It’s not an escape route, it’s not a plan B. If you don’t have deep love for music, you will be a flash in the pan,” he wrote.

He concluded by directly attacking trend-following DJs who do not even recognize how broad music can be.

“Yeah I’m talking to those DJs who think the only music out there is Amapiano. Build your crates,” he added.
