Popular Relationship therapist Blessing CEO has come out to explain why several people struggle to experience love. She recently blamed it on past trauma and negative conditioning, and Nigerians have been reacting.
Speaking via a video she posted on Instagram, Blessing urged Nigerians to try to look inward and heal because being damaged is never the end of the world.
She stated that being damaged is not even an insult like many perceive it to be, emphasising that it is simply a result of unprocessed pain
According to her, because a lot of people have reached that damaged state, they constantly find it hard to believe something beautiful can happen to them, so whenever they experience anything good, it becomes too good to be true.
“A lot of you are damaged. When you’re damaged, everything beautiful becomes too good to be true,” she said.
Blessing maintained that because social media regularly highlights breakups and marital scandals, more people are beginning to expect the absolute worst when it comes to relationships.
The therapist encouraged her followers to learn to take the lessons of every bad experience, instead of generalizing almost immediately.
“The reason why you’re damaged is because you do not take the lessons out of the experience. Once you take out the lessons, you become peaceful,” Blessing said.

She further encouraged Nigerians to always remember that no gender is wicked when it comes to matters of the heart, stressing that it is the individuals we choose to love that will end up determining our relationship experience.
“Love is beautiful. The only problem is, you don’t believe you deserve it. But you do,” she added.
