Nigerian artist Raoul John Njeng Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has voiced frustration on social media, condemning the Nigerian police for what he describes as an excessive number of checkpoints and misuse of authority on the roads.
In a post on his X handle, Skales expressed disdain for the police, criticizing their treatment of citizens and alleging that officers exploit their positions to intimidate and extort motorists. “My hate for Nigerian police still stands…very horrible set of humans,” he wrote, adding, “police wey no get money go dey stress fellow poor man knowing fully well what their doing is wrong…taking advantage of power given to them.”
Skales singled out Orchid Road, noting the high concentration of checkpoints along the route and alleging that officers often target luxury vehicle drivers for money. “They just mount for Orchid Road shamelessly stressing youths to end up begging for money,” he remarked, accusing the police of profiling drivers of high-end cars such as Benz vehicles.

He urged the police to review the situation, saying, “Why do you have like all your policemen on Orchid Road…look into it o cos now I go just dey wear camera for body they post everything online… it’s super annoying.”
Skales’ statements have sparked widespread discussion among social media users, with many echoing concerns about police conduct and the perceived misuse of power on Nigerian roads.
