Ex-Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has criticised former Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, for attending the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV in Rome. He recently claimed that Peter Obi was not allowed to see the Pope at the gathering.
Sharing a clip showing Peter Obi and Kayode Fayemi getting interrogated by security agents at the entrance of the papal room via his social media page, Femi wrote that both Nigerian politicians were denied access to where the Pope was.
Mocking Obi for the alleged humiliation, Fani-Kayode warned Obidients to learn a lesson from their leader, reiterating that it is never a wise idea to go where you are not invited.
He urged Peter Obi’s supporters to always go to where they are appreciated, and not where they will only be tolerated.
“Obidients take note: only go where you are accepted and appreciated and not where you are tolerated,” he wrote.
He further noted that Obi and Fayemi have President Bola Tinubu to thank for being allowed to pay homage, because it wouldn’t have been possible without him putting in a word for them.
“Despite Cardinal Arinze’s noble efforts it appears that Peter was not allowed in to see the Pope.
He was beautifully bounced until President Bola Tinubu put in a word for him and was later allowed in to pay homage. Even then he was not allowed anywhere near the Pope and instead went and paid homage to our President,” he added.
