Former Benue State Governor, Senator Gabriel Suswam, has said that the People’s Democratic Party might die before the 2027 election. He recently revealed that the PDP will not live to see 2027 if its leadership fails to take crucial steps to address the lingering crisis rocking the party.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s “The Morning Show,” Suswam revealed that the opposition party is currently in the intensive care unit, and death is very imminent if the right treatment is not applied as soon as possible.
According to him, several party members are working towards PDP’s ultimate end, and only the latest efforts by its current and former governors, led by Bukola Saraki, can rescue the party from its looming doom.

“A lot of people are hanging on, waiting to see the ultimate end of this party.
Whether there is light at the end of the tunnel in the efforts made by Senator Saraki that will be seen in the next two weeks,” he said.
Suswam noted that while he believes PDP is still not a lost cause, only the right steps can prevent the once-united political party from meeting its end.
He further confirmed that likening the party’s situation to ICU hints at a 50-50 survival chance, reaffirming that if the Saraki-led effort fails, the PDP might cease to exist.
“For now, I would say that PDP, is it in the hospital? Yes. Is it in ICU to some extent? Yes, it is. Can it be rescued? Yes, if the proper medicine is applied,” he added.
