Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has alleged that some musicians resort to spiritual practices, commonly referred to as “jazz” or voodoo, in their quest to produce hit songs.
Titiansloaded reports that the rapper, whose real name is Tochukwu Ojogwu, made the claim during an appearance on the Tea With Tay podcast, where he discussed the challenges of achieving commercial success in the Nigerian music industry.
According to Odumodublvck, producing a hit song is difficult, noting that some artistes spend their entire careers without recording a major hit.

He suggested that the pressure to achieve success sometimes pushes musicians to seek spiritual assistance.
“Getting a hit song is not easy. Sometimes people even do jazz to get one. That is why you see some artists crashing out when they struggle to get a hit,” he said.
The rapper also praised Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido for their ability to consistently release commercially successful songs over the years.

He said their sustained success deserved recognition, given how difficult it is for artistes to repeatedly produce hit records.
“Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido have been dropping hit songs consistently for years.
“You have to respect that. Some artistes never get a hit song throughout their careers,” he stated.
