Nollywood and Ghollywood actor Van Vicker has reacted to the “kicking” incident that involved fellow actors, Godwin Nnadiekwe and Zubby Michael, on a movie set. Recall that reports said Zubby allegedly kicked his fellow movie star during filming, and it led to Godwin being diagnosed with internal bleeding.
Reacting via his Instagram page, Van Vicker said that while he is yet to verify the allegation, the headline of the story is definitely very concerning.
Vicker revealed that in Nollywood, where there is no insurance, no body double, and no stunt actor on set, it is very important for directors to ensure that action scenes are well rehearsed to avoid preventable accidents.

According to him, even though some filmmakers still argue that rehearsals will only take away the element of surprise and shock factor from the scene, safety has to always be prioritized.
Vicker maintained that action scenes are extremely dangerous to shoot, therefore, every safety precaution must be adhered to before directors begin to roll their cameras.
He urged the powers that be in the Nigerian film industry not to take such incidents lightly because it can easily tarnish the reputation they have built over the years.
The movie star concluded by saying that the growth of Nollywood is not reliant on great acting, good sound, and quality pictures alone; the well-being of the professionals on set will always play the biggest role.
