Popular Afrobeats singer Lojay has reacted to artists criticizing award shows once they fail to win an award. He recently revealed that artists should always practise professionalism in everything they do.
Speaking during an interview with HipTV’s “Trending”, Lojay shared that even though it is very normal to feel bad when you don’t win an award, artists should always try to remain professional.
According to him, it does not really make sense to go online and trash an award show just because you did not win, and doing that only makes you look like a bad loser.
Lojay disclosed that as humans, we are allowed to get emotional for specific reasons, but artists insulting organizers of award shows under the guise of being emotional is them taking things too far.

“Everybody can get emotional about stuff for particular reasons, and that’s okay. I just feel like at the end of the day, you’re meant to be a professional artist, so don’t let your emotions take control.
I don’t think it makes sense to start trashing an award show just because you did not win,” he said.
Lojay’s comment is coming after the drama that followed the 17th Headies Awards, where a few Nigerian singers didn’t exactly take their Ls quietly, including “Laho” crooner, Shallipopi.
Shallipopi, who actually won an award, still jumped on social media to vent his anger, vowing never to attend the ceremony again.
