President Tinubu is celebrating former Senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Magnus Abe, on his 60th birthday. He recently praised Magnus’ commitment to promoting peace and unity in Nigeria.
Speaking via a press statement, Tinubu said that Abe’s contribution to Nigeria, not only in Rivers, but in the entire Niger Delta region, cannot be overemphasized.
He hailed the ex-senator’s incredible work as Commissioner for Information and Secretary to the Government in Rivers from 2003 to 2007, describing it as invaluable and spectacular.
According to Tinubu, Abe is a political ally who keeps aligning with him on the journey to deliver a stronger, economically viable and more united Nigeria under his Renewed Hope Agenda, and he deserves to be celebrated.
The President then extended his warmest wishes to the celebrant, praying to God to grant him many more years of impact and success.

Magnus Abe was first elected to the Nigerian Senate in 2011 in the April 2011 Federal elections. He was born on 24 May 1965 in Nchia, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State and attended St. Patrick College, Ikot-Ansa, Calabar and Akpor Grammar School, Ozuoba.
After obtaining an LL.B degree in law, he was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987, starting work as a Pupil State Counsel for the Federal Ministry of Justice, Lagos State. He went into private practice as a junior partner with Okocha & Okocha, Manuchim Chambers, later becoming a managing partner with Etim-Inyang, Abe in Port Harcourt.
He entered politics in 1999 when he was elected into the Rivers State House of Assembly, serving as the Minority Leader. In 2003, he defected to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), and from 2003 to 2007, he was Commissioner of Information in Rivers State in the administration of Governor Peter Odili. When Governor Chibuike Amaechi entered office in May 2007, Abe was appointed as Secretary to the State Government.
