US President Donald Trump has repeated his threat of a military operation in Nigeria over the killings of Christians. He recently had his say after the Nigerian presidency suggested a meeting to resolve the issue.
Speaking during an interview with AFP aboard Air Force One, Trump revealed that he cannot rule out any kind of Nigerian military operation to end the Christian killings in the country.
According to him, whether he’ll react by sending US troops to the country or ordering air strikes remains to be seen, but he is currently envisaging a lot of things.
He stated that he won’t sit idly and watch the murder of Nigerian Christians in very large numbers.
“Could be, I mean, a lot of things — I envisage a lot of things.
They’re killing the Christians and killing them in very large numbers. We’re not going to allow that to happen,” he said.

Recall that Trump, in an explosive post on his Truth Social platform, disclosed that he has directed the Pentagon to map out a possible plan of attack in Nigeria.
He shared that if Nigeria does not halt the killings, the United States will attack and “it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians.”
Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s spokesman, Daniel Bwala, has since responded by saying that Nigeria is the US’s partner in the global fight against terrorism.
“When leaders meet there would be better outcomes.
Nigeria welcomes US support to fight terrorism as long as it respects our territorial integrity.
We do not see the (Trump’s social media post) in the literal sense,” he added.
