Popular comedian Margaret Cho has come out to open up about her long-standing rift with former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. She recently spoke up about feeling dismissed and disrespected by the TV personality.
Speaking on “The Kelly Mantle Show” podcast, Margaret revealed that their rocky relationship began in the 1980s when she opened for Ellen during her early comedy club days.
According to her, however, DeGeneres acted like they had never met during her appearances on her talk show in the 2000s, and that didn’t sit well.
Describing the behaviour as “weird”, the comedian shared that it was shocking to see someone she goes way back with act like she is a complete stranger.
“I’m like, ‘B****, what? That’s weird. We go way back,” she said.

Cho also recalled a particular incident when a segment showing David Bowie complimenting her unique Chinese emperor outfit was cut from DeGeneres’ show.
She stated that Ellen’s producer, who was a friend, was the one who informed her about how the part of a clip that captured Bowie hailing her attire extensively was edited out.
Margaret shared that even if the decision might’ve been as a result of time constraints, it felt rude nonetheless.
“I’m going to take it personally just because I decided to,” she added.
Margaret Cho is among several comedians, including Rosie O’Donnell and Kathy Griffin, who have publicly called DeGeneres out in recent years.
All attempts to hear DeGeneres’ side of the story have proved abortive thus far.
