According to international media, Dwayne lost around 60 pounds in preparation for the upcoming film titled “The Smashing Machine”, directed by Benny Safdie, a major change compared to the sacrifices he made for projects like “Black Adam” or “Jumanji.”
Speaking at a press conference at the Venice Film Festival, the actor said, “I had a voice, a burning desire, to see what else I could do because sometimes you don’t know what you’re capable of doing when you’re pigeonholed.”
Those words basically confirmed that Dwayne Johnson is looking for a different acting challenge that moves away from regular projects that typecast him as a muscular action hero.
