A solemn clip from the service of songs held for late Nollywood filmmaker and TV director Kayode Peters has surfaced online. The emotional video recently stirred sad reactions from fans and Nollywood enthusiasts alike.
In the trending clip, comedian Basketmouth, veteran media personality Yaw, and several other members of the Flatmates crew were seen dressed in white as they sang the touching Christian hymn, “In Christ Alone.”
The service, which happened ahead of the late actor’s burial, triggered a lot of tears from friends, colleagues, and fans who gathered to honour the deceased.
Kayode Peters is widely regarded as one of the silent pillars of modern Nigerian television and comedy production.
The hymn, often sung at funerals and Christian services of farewell, became the emotional centrepiece of the night – resonating with themes of hope, faith, and eternity that now frame the moviestar’s legacy.
The trending video captured a rare, deeply emotional moment from Basketmouth and Yaw, both of whom are popular for their comedic displays rather than public vulnerability.
