US President Donald Trump has said that he does not intend to destroy Elon Musk’s companies amid their public fight. He recently revealed that reports saying he’ll remove federal subsidies to wreck Elon’s businesses should be ignored.
Reacting via his social media page, Trump shared that despite the widespread rumours saying otherwise, he actually wants Musk’s businesses to thrive.
According to him, taking away the large-scale subsidies that Elon receives from the U.S. government is not something he plans to do because he wants all the businesses across America, including Elon’s, to grow.
“Everyone is stating that I will destroy Elon’s companies by taking away some, if not all, of the large-scale subsidies he receives from the U.S. government. This is not so. I want Elon, and all businesses within our country, to thrive,” he wrote.

This clarification is coming after a public fallout between Trump and Musk on June 5 over tax policy.
Musk had warned Tesla investors recently that cuts in U.S. government support for electric vehicle makers could lead to a few rough quarters for the company.
The X owner reportedly contributed more than a quarter of a billion dollars to support Trump’s reelection campaign and had briefly led the Department of Government Efficiency in an effort to slash federal spending and reduce the workforce.
He resigned from the role in late May to refocus on his technology ventures, and their relationship soured after Musk criticized Trump’s tax-cut and spending bill.
