Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) crisis is fueled by the ego of its members. He recently shared that Atiku is not solely responsible for the party’s lingering problems.
Speaking during a media parley with journalists on Wednesday in Zamfara, Dauda disclosed that the division in the party is way beyond one man, and despite conscious efforts to end the crisis, unity has failed to prevail.
He stated that amid reports saying President Bola Tinubu is behind the PDP’s crisis, he’ll blame nobody but PDP members, including himself.
“Everybody has their own issue; it’s not just about Atiku Abubakar; it’s beyond him.
It’s an internal problem within the PDP, and we are making a conscious effort. I think it’s about people’s egos — everybody, no exception,” he said.

He further noted that free and fair elections are definitely possible in Nigeria because he is a living proof of electoral fairness.
According to him, despite the might of the Federal Government and the plans by other powerful people to rig the election that made him governor, the will of the people still prevailed.
He concluded by saying that he became the first elected PDP governor in Zamfara State only because it was a free and fair election.
“I will say yes because I experienced it in Zamfara State — with all the powerful people that can turn things around, with the might of the Federal Government and everything.
Yes, there will still be a free and fair election. That was what made me elected as the governor of Zamfara State. I was the first elected PDP governor in Zamfara State. So, it was a free and fair election, and I believe it will happen. It’s a matter of time,” he added.
