The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, has said that PDP senators from Kebbi State are set to defect to the APC. He recently said that after a lot of underground discussions between the major stakeholders in Kebbi, they came to the conclusion that 3 PDP senators from the state would decamp to the APC.
Speaking while addressing State House correspondents after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Ganduje waxed lyrical about the good development, saying the recent decamping to the APC is in consonance with what is happening in Nigeria today.
According to him, President Tinubu has since given his blessing for the defection to happen, and Nigerians will witness it all play out in the Red Chambers by Tuesday next week.
“This is a good development and it is in consonance with what is happening in Nigeria today.
Almost every week in the Senate and House of Representatives, you see members of other political parties decamping to our party.
So, we came here so that Mr President will bless this resolution and he has graciously given his blessing, and by Tuesday you will see what will happen in the Red Chambers,” he said.

Ganduje further stated that it should be a smooth transition for the senators involved because APC’s political know-how is developed enough to manage the situation well.
He reiterated that APC will keep doing the needful in order to increase its numerical strength, and also its quality and capacity of followership, ahead of future elections.
“Our constitution is very clear about this, and with our political dexterity in managing such affairs, I assure you that there will be a smooth integration.
We are not saying we are working for a one-party system, but if this is the wish of Nigerians we cannot quarrel with that.
You know they say too many cooks spoil the soup; too many political parties spoil governance.
APC must do what we must do democratically in order to increase our numerical strength, and also our quality and capacity of followership,” he added.
