A lawmaker representing Eket/Onna/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Okpolupm Etteh, has hailed President Bola Tinubu for appointing Usoro Akpabio as the Managing Director of the newly established South-South Development Commission. He recently revealed that while Usoro’s appointment as the Managing Director, SSDC is still subject to the approval of the Senate, it is a step in the right direction.
Speaking via a press statement from his media unit, Etteh revealed that he has a lot of confidence in Usoro’s readiness to lead the new commission, and he can confirm that her years of experience in public service will make her thrive as MD.
According to him, Akpabio’s commitment to national development is highly commendable, so the people of Akwa Ibom should not hesitate to rally around her to unlock massive development opportunities for the South-South region.
“I sincerely commend President Tinubu for this visionary appointment. Miss Usoro Akpabio is a seasoned public servant whose dedication and competence will certainly drive the success of the SSDC.
As the SSDC begins operations, I call on all Akwa Ibom people to support Miss Akpabio in this important assignment,” he said.

He further said that South-South Development Commission can only succeed if the people are united, and unity is all the region requires to trigger a new era of prosperity in Akwa Ibom state.
He insisted that Usoro’s appointment further proves that President Tinubu is committed to promoting inclusive governance in Niger Delta.
“With unity and collective effort, we can usher in a new era of prosperity for our state and the entire South-South region.
Miss Akpabio’s appointment is a strategic move to strengthen regional development efforts and promote inclusive governance in the Niger Delta,” he added.
