Former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal has declared that President Bola Tinubu should not remain in office after the 2027 general elections, accusing his administration of failing to fulfil key campaign promises.
Titiansloaded reports that Tambuwal made the remarks on Wednesday during the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential campaign flag-off in Sokoto, where he criticised the government’s performance on electricity, security, roads and infrastructure.
“Bola Tinubu and his team have failed woefully in providing leadership for Nigeria,” the former governor said.

He recalled that Tinubu had promised improved electricity supply during the 2023 presidential campaign but questioned whether the commitment had been fulfilled. He also challenged the administration’s record on insecurity and infrastructure development.
“Therefore, they have no business whatsoever remaining in power,” Tambuwal said, urging Nigerians to vote for former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and other ADC candidates in 2027.
He called on supporters to remain at polling units until votes were counted and results declared, insisting that the opposition would resist electoral manipulation.
Tambuwal said the party was determined to ensure that election results reflected the wishes of voters.

He also criticised Tinubu’s supporters in northern Nigeria, arguing that their campaign focused on the president’s past political alliances rather than his performance in office.
According to Tambuwal, Tinubu’s political relationships with Atiku Abubakar in 2007, Nuhu Ribadu in 2011 and former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and 2019 were being emphasis ed instead of his achievements as president.
“They are not campaigning on his scorecard. He is a sitting president. What has he done? What has he achieved in the last three and a half years?” he asked.

Tambuwal claimed that Nigeria had experienced worsening economic and security conditions, citing hunger, poverty and killings across the country.
He argued that political support should be based on effective leadership rather than regional loyalty.
The former governor further urged ADC supporters to monitor the movement of election results from polling units to ward, local government and state collation centres, ensuring that figures were properly verified at every stage.
