The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, 2024 – Second Series, will commence on Friday, October 25, and run until Friday, December 20, 2024.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, WAEC disclosed that this year’s exam will use a hybrid format. Multiple-choice questions will be presented on-screen, and candidates will submit their responses digitally. However, for essay and practical sections, while questions will be displayed on-screen, candidates must write their answers in the provided booklets.
WAEC has also made provisions for candidates who prefer the traditional Paper and Pen mode for the entire exam.
Additionally, the registration deadline has been extended to Tuesday, October 29, 2024. For those who miss this deadline, the Council has introduced a “Walk-in-Candidate” option, allowing candidates to register up to 24 hours before their selected paper.
The final timetable is available for download on the WAEC Nigeria website. The Council has encouraged all candidates, whether registered or intending to register, to take advantage of its various learning resources. These include the WAEC e-Study platform, WAEC Past Questions and Answers books, and the WAECKonnect platform for candidate interaction.
WAEC wished all candidates success in the upcoming examination and reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing service delivery through technological innovations, making its services more accessible to stakeholders.
